MPEG PSI SI
MPEG:- Moving Picture Expert Group
This is a international standerd used for the compression of Moving Picture and Audio both.
MPEG PSI:- The STB requires the re-assembling of the content to display the componen thatsy we need a “Conten page” which has set of tables are called PSI program specific Information.
PSI contains mainly three things,
1) PAT:- Program Association Table
2) PMT:- Program MAP Table
3) CAT:- Conditional Access Table
1) PAT:-
a) This gives the list of all the program available in the Transport Stream.
b) It also gives the PMT PID.
2) PMT:-
a) It shows the PCR PID.
b) It shows the Component PID.
c) It also shows the component types i.e.
Component Descriptor(Language Descriptor)
and CA Descriptor(ECM).
3) CAT:- It describes the conditional access system and their EMM(protects the data from unauthorised user).
DVB SI :- It is designed for the humen interface for to display the services and Program information.
It enables,
(a) NVOD
(b) EPG
(c) P/F (Presend Following Banner)
(d) MOSAICS
(e) Time Shifted Services
DVB SI contains the following tables,
(a) NIT :- Network Information Table
(b) BAT:- Bouquet Association Table
(c) SDT-A :- Service description Table
(d) SDT-O :- Service Description Table
(e) EIT P/F Actual (Event Information Table P/F)
(f) EIT PF Other (Event Information Table P/F)
(g) EIT Schedule Other
(h) TDT (Time Date Table)
(j) TOT (Time offest Table)
(a) NIT :-
It describes the delivery system paramerts of all the transport stream in the Network.
It contains Linkage Descriptors
NIT Actal and NIT other
(b) BAT :-
In a bouquet the services are potentially available and can be blocked by CA System
It contains Linkage Descriptor
(c) SDT-A :-
It describes the services names and status of services running or not in the current system.
Service types are TV,NVOD,Radio and Interactive etc.
(d) SDT-O :-
It describes the service names in the other Transport Stream
(e) EIT (P/F)-A :-
It sends the program information on the current TS
(f) EIT (P/F)-O :-
It sends the program information on all other TS.
(g) EIT SC-A :-
It contains the program name, starts time, ends time and all EPG information on current TS.It contains 8 days EPG.
(h) EIT (SC)-O :-
It contains all program information on all other TS.
(i) TDT :-
It is used for to update the date and time of the internal clock of STB with the UTC.Which is generated by the MUX or iStreamer.
(j) TOT :-
It is usend to support Local Time Offsests from UTC i.e. INDIA = UTC+5:30
